Instructions for Authors |
|
|
Manuscripts may be submitted to any member of the
editorial board. Authors are asked to
supply two paper copies of the manuscript, and to include a short abstract
of the manuscript and an email address. Articles typeset in TEX or LaTEX. Please do not submit files for manuscripts until requested to do so. However, when a paper is accepted, the authors are asked to supply a source file via e-mail if possible. Files using any version of TEX can be handled, and LaTEX is the preferred dialect. Please keep formatting macros to a minimum, to make conversion of files more accurate. Do not worry about chapter headings, running titles, bad page breaks, etc. and avoid adding extra space and using glue to improve the appearance of the manuscript. Please ensure that the material has been carefully proof-read and that the file does not require any special input files. Figures or Graphics. Figures should be of professional quality, including all labelling, and should be provided in the form of glossy prints or Indian ink drawings. All essential details (labelling) must be legible after a reduction of at least 50 %. Figures should be submitted on seperate sheets and numbered consecutively. Figures created via a graphics package should be saved in encapsulated PostScript (EPS) format. A separate file for each graphic should be submitted. In a TEX document EPS files may be incorporated into the TEX file by using one of the standard macro packages, such as epsf.tex (epsf.sty) or psfig.tex. Include paper copies of all the PostScript files for the graphics. Tables should be numbered (with Roman numerals) and referred to by number in the text. Each table (with caption) should appear on a separate page of the manuscript. Footnotes should be avoided, or kept to a minimum. References should be collected at the end of the paper and numbered in alphabetical order of the authors' names. Titles of journals should be abbreviated as in Mathematical Reviews. The following examples show the preferred style for references to a book, a paper in a journal, a paper in a proceedings volume, and an unpublished dissertation. [1] [2] [3] [4] [1] O. Veblen and J. W. Young, Projective Geometry. Ginn, 1910. [2] H. Freudenthal, Oktaven, Ausnahmegruppen und Oktavengeometrie. Geom. Dedicata 19 (1985), 7 -- 63. [3] H. Salzmann, Projectivities and the topology of lines. In: Geometry -- von Staudt's point of view, Proc. Bad Windsheim, 1980 (P. Plaumann and K. Strambach, eds.), pp. 313 -- 337, Reidel, 1981. [4] W. H. Haemers, Eigenvalue techniques in designs and graph theory. PhD thesis, Eindhoven 1979. Authors' names and complete affiliations (names, institution, city, state, and zip code) should be placed below the list of references. Authors should inform the journal Advances in Geometry of changes of address while their paper is under consideration. The e-mail address for Advances in Geometry is: advgeom@mathematik.uni-wuerzburg.de In all other matters arising before the acceptance of papers, authors are requested to communicate directly with the appropriate editor. Authors will receive two sets of page proofs for correction. Joint authors should indicate on the original manuscript which of them should receive the page proofs. Only typographical errors should be corrected in the proofs. If excessive alterations to the original manuscript are requested after the paper has been typeset, the authors will be charged for the cost of resetting. Fifty offprints for each article will be supplied free of charge. Additional offprints may be ordered when the proofs are returned.
